What cookies are
Who sets them
This website is operated by 1st Insurance, trading as Private Rescue. This policy covers cookies and similar technologies used on this website. How we handle personal information more broadly is described in our Privacy Policy.
Essential cookies
These make the website work and cannot be switched off through the website itself. They are only set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or purchasing.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to your member account, to maintain your session and security while you move through the site, to remember your progress and selections during sign-up and checkout, and to protect forms against abuse. WordPress, the platform this website runs on, sets its own session and authentication cookies for these purposes. Most of these are session cookies that expire when you close your browser; login cookies last up to 30 days.
Payment cookies
Card payments are handled by CyberSource, our payment processor. The secure card fields on the payment step are served by CyberSource inside your browser, and CyberSource may set cookies or use similar technologies needed to run that secure session and prevent fraud. These last only as long as the payment session. Your card details are entered directly with CyberSource and do not touch our servers. CyberSource’s own privacy notices apply to its processing.
Functional cookies
Your choices
When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change that choice at any time via [cookie settings link]. Your browser also gives you control: you can block or delete cookies in its settings, and you can set it to warn you before cookies are stored. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the website working, including logging in to your account and completing a purchase.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the cookies we use change, and the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the cookie banner where consent is affected.
